Greater Brisbane lockdown announcement – 8 January

Paedicare remains open for all patient appointments during the Greater Brisbane lockdown period. Our team are providing essential patient care and it is important that patients continue with their scheduled visits.

Please be reassured the health and safety of our patients and their families is our top priority. We have the most stringent hygiene practices and screening measures in place.

In line with the Greater Brisbane lockdown restrictions, parents/carers are required to wear a mask while in health facilities. Children under 12 years are not required to wear a mask but encouraged to wear one if they are willing to. Please wear masks whilst travelling to your appointments.

Please note only one parent/carer is permitted for patients under the age of 18. Additional visitors are not permitted at health facilities as per Queensland Health’s directive.

It is important not to attend the centre and get tested if the patient, parent/carer or anyone they live with develop any COVID-19 symptoms, even if they are mild. Anyone being tested must isolate until the test results are received.

Symptoms include:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Shortness of breath
  • Runny nose
  • Fatigue
  • Loss of smell and/or taste

Other symptoms people may experience include muscle or joint pain, diarrhoea, nausea and/or vomiting and loss of appetite.

If patients or parents/carers have been to these identified locations during the relevant time periods, regardless of whether they have symptoms, they’re asked by Queensland Health to get tested and quarantine at home until they receive their results.

If patients or parents/carers have been in close contact with an infected person or a person who has been identified as a close contact of a case, please contact us; do not attend the clinic.

We understand you may be concerned during this time. If your child is a Paedicare patient and you have concerns regarding this announcement, please contact us.
