Paedicare Paediatricians response – Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)

Paedicare Paediatricians will continue to provide services during the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic

Paedicare Paediatricians are dedicated to providing care for our new and returning patients. We will continue to provide consultations during the pandemic. The current situation allows us to continue consulting in our low risk clinical environment. We are dedicated to staying open and providing care to our patients through this pandemic.

Due to social distancing regulations we do ask however that only one person accompanies the patient into the clinic.

Patients who are unwell or who have recently returned from overseas should not attend the clinic. Please contact us to schedule a video/telephone consultation or reschedule to another time. Due to the services provided Paedicare remains a low risk clinic and we are unable to see patients who are acutely unwell. This is to protect the safety and wellbeing of our patients and staff.

If your child is unwell on arrival we will need to ask you to reschedule or offer telehealth. Please see a list of questions to assist you in deciding if your child needs to reschedule or offer a telehealth consult. Prices for telehealth are also included.

Paedicare Paediatricians are dedicated to the safe care of our patients

Staff who are unwell will not be entering the clinical space, to limit the risk of transmission of infectious illnesses.

The clinics are still running with enhanced screening and hand hygiene

Staff and clinicians at Paedicare Paediatricians practice rigorous hand hygiene and regular thorough cleaning of surfaces. Potential sources of transmission of illness, such as toys, have been removed from the waiting and clinical rooms.

The entry foyer, waiting room and desk area have clinic posters advising about safe practice.

We ask that you and your child wash their hands with soap and water in one of the nearby bathrooms before entering our rooms. On arrival in our rooms and again on departure please apply the antimicrobial hand gel provided. Apart from doctors using their hands to examine your child, we ask you to respect the social distancing practices. Doctors will open and close the door to our consult rooms. With regard to making payments, and if there is a requirement to use the EFTPOS terminal, the machine will be covered with a disposable piece of plastic wrap for each client.

If you have any concerns about the safety of yourself and your children please contact our reception staff.

For patients who are in quarantine, who are at risk, or who do not want to come to the clinic; video and phone consultations are available. If possible please provide a current weight for your child at this video/telephone consultation.

Paedicare Paediatricians understand that families of children with chronic medical conditions may choose to avoid the hospital precinct. If you have been exposed to Coronavirus or are in quarantine you will be required to stay away from the clinic. As we are dedicated to the health care of your children we will continue to consult with you and your child via telehealth or telephone. Please discuss the options available with the reception staff when you make a booking.
